Our San Diego beaches are closed because a great white munched on a triathlonist the other day (true story, I swear... Solana beach, which is like... two exits from where I live) so I went astrolling on the beach in Santa Monica instead and walked on the pier at sunset.
I can now cross a couple more items off the Things To Do Before I Die List:
*walk on the Santa Monica Pier at sunset
*see a Hollywood movie premiere
*stare at Matthew Fox's ass from across the street (he's tall... he leans forward when he talks to really short people... bless)
I love that I can already make my way through LA and I've only been there once before. Yes, it's still fugly, be it Compton or downtown, but I still like it. It's great for people watching.
I just got back to SD and I'm eating breakfast at Starbucks... I think I'll take the ferry to Coronado and go lay down on the beach anyway. If I should happen to be rudely interrupted from my nap... I've seen that special Shark episode of Mythbusters so at least I know what doesn't work.
ETA: I won't be able to catch up today. I don't want my flist to think I'm ignoring them, but I've slept eight hours in two nights so I'm probably just going to collapse once I'm done savoring this nice day and drag my butt home.
